Dhanush starrer Asuran directed by Vetrimaaran is set to hit the screens worldwide on October 4. The makers have released the first promo video from the film. Touted to be a rural revenge action drama, the film marks the Kollywood debut of popular Mollywood actress Manju Warrier. 

Asuran produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu has cleared the censors with U/A certificate. It is loosely based on the award-winning writer Poomani's novel titled Vekkai. The film also stars Balaji Sakthivel, Prakash Raj, Pasupathy, Subramania Siva, Yogi Babu and Aadukalam Naren in supporting roles. The technical crew comprises of composer GV Prakash, cinematographer Velraj and editor Ramar.
