Mumbai Saga is a gangster flick directed by Sanjay Gupta starring John Abraham, Emraan Hashmi in the lead roles. The shooting of 'Mumbai Saga' began on Tuesday. Film producer Bhushan Kumar, shared the news on social media. He tweeted, "The journey of Bombay's transformation to Mumbai begins as #MumbaiSaga goes on floors today!" 

Set in the 1980s-'90s, the film revolves around all that went into transforming Bombay into Mumbai. The film also features Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Amol Gupte, Prateik Babbar, Gulshan Grover and Rohit Roy. Kajal Agarwal has been roped in as the leading lady opposite John Abraham. This is the first time Kajal will be sharing the screen space with John.

Confirming the news, director Sanjay tweeted, "Shot with the wonderful and vivacious @MsKajalAggarwal yesterday as she joined #MumbaiSaga as the lead actress opposite John. Feels so great when actors bring to life characters exactly as we've conceived them."

Sanjay, who is known for his films like Kaante, Musafir, Shootout at Lokhandwala and Kaabil, said his upcoming directorial is his most ambitious project till date. The film produced by Kumar's T-Series banner is set to hit the screens on 19 June 2020.
