Ranu Maria Mondal became an overnight internet sensation after a 2 minute video clip of her singing a Lata Mangeshkar song went viral on social media. At that time she was reported to be working at Ranaghat station in West Bengal and was observed to be hailing from a working-class background. The 59 year old was later invited to reality show Superstar Singer, and was even gifted with a make-over in honour of her talent.

Mondal who was promised a song on the same show by one of its judges Himesh Reshammiya, has now realized her dream. The actor-musician recently posted an Instagram video of recording a song with Ranu which will feature in his upcoming film Happy Hardy and Heer.

"Recorded teri meri kahani my new song from happy hardy and heer with the very talented ranu mondal who has a divine voice , all your our dreams can come true if we have the courage to peruse them , a positive attitude can really make dreams come true , thanks for all your love and support," wrote Reshammiya which is now winning hearts all over.
