Actor Parthiban’s 'Oththa Seruppu Size 7' entered Asian Book of Records and Indian Book of Records for being the first ever film written, directed and produced by the same person apart from playing solo lead. The ceremony happened at BOFTA Academy after the special preview screening for the committee members of Asian Book of Records, which was attended by Radhakrishnan Parthiban’s mentors Bharathiraja and K Bhagyaraj, his close friends-directors Saamy, Samuthirakani, cinematographer Ramji and his family members.

Addressing the special invitees, Parthiban said, “Right from the time, I embarked on my directorial venture with Puthiya Paathai, my investors doubted on its commercial success. Soon after watching the preview shows, they would feel that it has a touch of ‘Art Film’ and wouldn’t go well commercially. The scenario was same even with one of my recent previous directorial ‘Kathai Thiraikathai Vasanam Iyakkam’. The investors, who saw the film went disappointed saying that it will not have a successful run in box office. However, I have always banked my blind hopes on audiences, who I consider as God. They have never failed to break such pre-release disbeliefs and make my film successful. I am sure, they will definitely have a different experience with Oththa Seruppu Size 7. We are now taking forward this film to a global reach by getting it screened at Singapore International Festival and it is being screened for nomination selection at Golden Globe Awards as well.
