Recently it was suggested that the team of Indian 2 which is currently waiting to resume shooting from August 19, 2019 underwent a change, with cinematographer Rathnavelu stepping in for Ravi Varman. Now, it is being suggested that the reason behind the same was Ravi Varman moving onto another project, which is believed to be Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan. 

It is worth mentioning here that both Indian 2 and Ponniyin Selvan are production ventures of the same banner, Lyca Productions. Though there are no official announcements as yet, it is being suggested that Ravi Varman will be reuniting with the director with whom he has worked on in Kaatru Veliyidai (2017) and Five Star (Mani Ratnam's 2002 production venture).

Other than Ponniyin Selvan, Ravi Varman is also currently a part of Malayalam film titled Kolaambi, the trailer and animation teaser of which can be viewed here and here respectively.
