Shahid Kapoor, Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh, which is a faithful Hindi remake of the Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy is Bollywood's latest film to be setting the cash registers ringing and this has gotten the talk of 'South Indian' remakes solid value to the Bollywood's revenue in the last decade going once again.
Before Kabir Singh, Ranveer Singh starrer Simmba (remake of Telugu film Temper) and Tiger Shroff-starrer Baaghi 2 (remake of Telugu movie Kshanam) had registered a box-office collection that touched the Rs. 100 Crore mark.
Added to this, some of the biggest commercial entertainers that turned out to be huge blockbusters in the last 10 years in Hindi were remakes of movies from the South - inclusive of the Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages. Some such films are:

- Housefull 2 (2012) - Based on Mattupatti Machan (Malayalam)
- Rowdy Rathore (2012) - Remake of Vikramarkudu (Telugu)
- Son of Sardaar (2012) - Remake of Maryada Ramana (Telugu)
- Bodyguard (2011) - Remake of Bodyguard (Malayalam)
- Ready (2011) - Remake of Ready (Telugu)

This success trend also seems to be not going away soon for blockbuster hits of Tamil star Ajith (among many South films) are already on the cards of being remade in Hindi.
