Sanjay Dutt starts shooting for Bhuj: The Pride of India in Hyderabad

The shooting of Ajay Devgn starrer Bhuj: The Pride of India has started rolling in Hyderbad. Sanjay Dutt has joined the team to shoot for his portions. The film written and directed by Abhishek Dudhaiya is based on true events that happened during the Indo-Pak war of 1971. The movie will also star Sanjay Dutt, Rana Daggubati, Sonakshi Sinha, Parineeti Chopra and Ammy Virk in significant roles. 


Ajay Devgn will play Vijay Karnik, an IAF  Squadron Leader while Parineeti will play Heena Rehman. Sonakshi will portray social worker Sunderben Jetha Madharparya, Sanjay Dutt will play civilian Ranchordas Svabhai Ravari, Rana will be seen playing a lieutenant colonel from the Madras Regiment and Ammy will essay the role of a fighter pilot. 

 

Reportedly, Vijay Karnik who was in-charge of the Bhuj airbase during the 1971 war, was instrumental in reconstructing the destroyed Indian Air Force airstrip at Bhuj, Gujarat with the help of local women. The team convinced around 300 women from a nearby village to help them rebuild the airstrip so that a flight carrying Indian Army officers could land safely.

 

Bhushan Kumar is bankrolling the film along with Krishan Kumar, Ginny Khanuja, Vajir Singh and Abhishek Dhudhaiya. Bhuj: The Pridie of India is set to hit screens on August 14, 2020.
