The trailer of a Bollywood film by the name Pihu has recently been grabbing everyone's attention for it features a 2 year old girl child locked up along in an apartment with what seems like a dead mother and encountering dangerous objects and situations. While the trailer in in itself has garnered mixed extreme reactions of approval and dismal (view below), there have also been chatter about the marketing techniques employed for the film's promotions.
Apparently the film is being promoted through a call of a wailing child asking for help which many have found be an insensitive way of promoting films.
Pihu is based on a true story of a 2 year old Ottawa boy who took care of himself for 10 whole days in an apartment while his mother lay killed (full story here). Pihu is directed by Vinod Kapri and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Ronnie Screwwala. The film's trailer and the reactions for it can be viewed below:
