Chekka Chivantha Vaanam is unstoppable at the Box office in its second week despite new releases like 96, Ratsasan and NOTA. CCV starring Aravind Swamy, STR, Vijay Sethupathi and Arun Vijay in the lead roles directed by Mani Ratnam hit the screens on September 27. The film opened to rave reviews from all quarters and is raking in the moolah at the Box Office as well.
The film has grossed Rs. 40 cr in its first week (8 days). The film is estimated to have collected Rs. 47- 48 cr in 11 days. In Chennai City, the film has grossed Rs. 7.04 cr in 11 days. It is the second Tamil film to cross Rs. 7 cr mark in Chennai after Kaala. The film has grabbed the second spot this week at the Chennai Box Office with Vijay Sethuapthi's 96 movie leading at the top.
According to trade sources, the film has turned into a profitable venture in all territories expect Andhra Pradesh / Telangana where the film failed to make a mark at the Box Office. In Tamil Nadu, the film has entered the profit zone with the theatrical rights of the film sold for Rs. 18 cr and nett share estimated around Rs. 23 cr. The film has grossed around Rs. 58 - 60 cr at the domestic box office with a worldwide total of Rs. 85+ cr.
