Karan Johar has pulled off a casting coup of sorts for his next directorial venture titled 'Takht'. KJo shared the news on his Twitter page announcing the films' title and the star cast.

Takht revolves around the battle for the throne of the Mughal empire. The period drama stars Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Anil Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Janhvi Kapoor among others. Karan Johar is all set to don the director's hat after a gap of two years. His last directorial venture was Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

The film is slated for release in 2020. Takht’s screenplay is by Sumit Roy and the dialogues of the film are written by Hussain Haidry.
