Bollywood filmmaker Ekta Kapoor has joined hands with the ace filmmaker Imtiaz Ali to recreate the magic of Laila Majnu onscreen. Laila Majnu is said to be a modern day re-telling of the classic love story of Laila-Majnu. Imtiaz Ali has written the film’s story, directed by Sajid Ali and produced by Ekta Kapoor. The film will hit the screens on September 7, 2018. Balaji Motion Pictures shared the film's trailer on its official twitter handle.

Set in Kashmir, the story revolves around Kais (Avinash Tiwary) and Laila (Tripti Dimri) whose journey of love is filled with insurmountable obstacles. The film will be presented by Imtiaz Ali and produced by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures and PI Films.
