Before the weekend episode aired, where Kamal Haasan usually makes his appearance in the Tamil reality TV show Bigg Boss, there were reports that the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) was planning to boycott the shooting of the show on grounds that the producers of the show have repeated their mistake of employing 75 percent of the production crew from Mumbai instead of sourcing locally. Since this is clearly in violation of the rules of FEFSI, tension had started prevailing between the parties involved and talks were being conducted.
Now, despite the weekend episodes of Bigg Boss Tamil being aired without any hassle, things do not seem to be peachy. A media report quotes FEFSI's general secretary Angamuthu Shanmugam to have said,
“We have given them time till Saturday. If they aren’t heeding to our demand, around 2,000 members will stage a grand protest at EVP Film City. We have intimated the same to Kamal Haasan and Chinnathirai Producer Sangam....Unlike the last season of the show, where the producer was from Mumbai, this time, the makers, have obligation towards FEFSI as they are affiliated to it. So, we demand that 100% of the employees should be from FEFSI.”
