The trailer of Vetrimaaran and Dhanush's long in the making Vada Chennai is set to be unveiled on July 28, 2018. The movie will hit the screens in September and an exact date is yet to be announced. Dhanush took to his Twitter handle to share the details of the film.

The first look posters of the film were out in March. The film is a first part of a triology and has Dhanush playing a carrom board player. The trilogy, set in north Chennai, will track 30 years of the life of a gangster. Also starring Aishwarya Rajesh, Samuthirakani, Andreah and Ameer among others. Vada Chennai is produced by Wunderbar Films and will be presented by Lyca Productions. The film has Santhosh Narayanan for music, Velraj for cinematography and G.B. Venkatesh for edits.
