Awe director Prasanth Varma replaces Neelakanta Reddy in Queen Telugu remake

Filmmaker Prasanth Varma of 'Awe' fame is all set to direct the Telugu remake of Hindi hit film 'Queen'. Tamannaah Bhatia plays Kangana Ranaut's character in the Telugu remake of Queen

 

The film also titled Queen in Telugu started principle shooting last October with director Neelakanta Reddy at the helm. Neelakanta who had shot a huge chunk of the film in Amsterdam had walked out of the project midway citing creative differences with Tamannaah. Ever since Neelakanta’s exit, the shoot of the Telugu version of the project has been put on hold. The makers of the film were in the lookout for a new director to replace Neelakanta to complete the remaining portions of the film.

 

According to the latest report, director Prasanth Varma who made an impressive debut with 'Awe' has been chosen to direct the Telugu remake. Prasanth has already started work on the film and will be completing the rest of the film. Pictures of the director celebrating his birthday on the sets of Queen has been doing the rounds on social media. 

 

 

Queen starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead role directed by Vikas Bahl was a Blockbuster hit Bollywood film. The film is also being remade in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam.  While Kajal Aggarwal plays the lead role in Tamil version Paris Paris, Manjima Mohan and Parul Yadav will be seen in Malayalam (titled Zam Zam) and Kannada (titled Butterfly) version of the Bollywood film. Ramesh Aravind is directing the Tamil and Kannada version of the film.
