Over the bygone weekend, the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce conducted a meeting over the ban of Rajinikanth's upcoming film Kaala and decided against the release of the movie in the state due to Rajini's statements on the Cauvery issue. Addressing the same, Tamil Nadu Film Producers' Council president and South Indian Film Artistes' Association secretary Vishal has expressed his dismay over KFCC's decision through his twitter page.
Wat Rajini sir spoke bout Cauvery issue is called responsibility n freedom of https://t.co/LHXXpG78C3 cn they stop #kaala release n Karnataka in retaliation.i sincerely hope the Karnataka film chamber and fellow brothers resolve this issue.we all r Indians https://t.co/VdsL1fQOXw

Rajinikanth who is on a visit to Thoothukudi today, seems to have issued a statement to the media on his part and said, "I am not sure about the reason behind that problem. I got to know about this only yesterday through news channels. Karnataka Film Chamber is only a part of the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce(SIFCC)..They (SIFCC) will look into the issue and I believe the problem will be sorted."
Directed by Pa. Ranjith and produced by Dhanush's Wunderbar Films, Kaala will be presented by Lyca Productions and is due to hit theatre screens on June 7, 2018.
