Sanjay Dutt, Ali Fazal and Amyra Dastur team up for Hindi remake of Telugu film Prasthanam

After a long span of seven years, Sanjay Dutt is returning to production with the remake of the Telugu hit, Prasthanam. The 2010 Telugu political thriller is being remade into Hindi and Deva Katta, the director of the original, will be directing the remake version as well. The Hindi remake has been titled Prasthaanam. The story revolved around exposing the connection between politicians and businessmen.

 

The film will go on floors on the special occasion of the 89th birth anniversary of Sanjay Dutt's late mother Nargis Dutt’s which falls on June 1. The film will be shot in Lucknow. Sanjay Dutt, Ali Fazal and Amyra Dastur play the lead roles. Sanjay Dutt plays the lead protagonist along with Ali Fazal as his son and Amyra Dastur as Ali’s love interest. Director Deva Katta has tweaked the script to suit the pan-India audience. 

 

Sanjay Dutt’s last production venture was 2011 film Rascals which bombed at the box office. Sanjay Dutt has a number of projects to look forward to in the coming years including Kalank, Torbaaz, Shamshera, Panipat, Total Dhamaal and Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 apart from Prasthaanam.
