Vijay,Suriya, Vijay Sethupathi are never asked this question: Amala Paul strikes back!

The befuddlement over Bhaskar Oru Rascal's release date has hardly died down that the limelight has now shifted towards the movie's female lead, Amala Paul. Given the film's genre (Bhaskar Oru Rascal is the story of two children raised by single parents), during the film's promotions Paul had to encounter a lot of questions related to playing a mother, career after marriage, being single and such. One such promotional interview seems to have finally gotten under the actress' skin for she has been quoted to a question on 'the possibility of loosing the image of an actress after playing a mother's role' as saying,

"I do not understand why such questions are asked only to actresses. Why is this question not asked to Arvind Swami (her co-star in the movie who also plays father to a child), Surya (her Pasanga 2 co-star where they played parents to two children), Vijay (has played a father in Theri) or even the young actor Vijay Sethupathi (has played father to two children in Sethupathi)....This (playing parent to a child/children) is not a big thing. This is just a movie,an art form..This is a wrong question, even the perspective of this question is wrong. And directing such questions to only actresses make it even more wrong."

This isn't the first time Amala Paul has spoken over the topic. During an earlier interview to a print medium (for the promotion of the same movie), the actress was reported to have dismissed all 'misogynistic questions.' She was also quoted to have said,

"Why did you accept a mother’s role being so young, aren’t you afraid of being typecast into particular roles? – I get so annoyed with questions like these. Stop asking us questions about whether we will work after marriage and if we are scared about our position in the male-dominated industry."
