Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone attend Met Gala 2018

 

The Costume Institute Gala at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, also known as the Met Gala is the biggest fundraising event of the fashion industry in Hollywood and it is known for its out-of-the-box themes, with which celebrities are expected to step up their fashion game. This year’s theme was ‘Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination’ and Bollywood actresses Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone attended the event.  

While Priyanka stuck to the theme and wore a Ralph Lauren velvet gown accessorised with a bejeweled hood, Deepika Padukone seemed to have taken the theme was 'Sunday Best' (also opted by Kim Kardashian and Amal Clooney) in a red Prabal Gaurang gown, instead of going for the exhibit theme. Nevertheless the two made for a stunning appearance at the Red carpet representing the country on this international platform. 


Other Hollywood celebrities that attended the event were Scarlett Johansson, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively, Salma Hayek, Ronney Mara to name a few. Deepika will also be seen flying to Cannes, where she is to appear on the red carpet of the film festival on May 10 and May 11.
