Varun Dhawan: I want to work with Shankar and SS Rajamouli

Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan’s upcoming film October is set to hit the screens this Friday (April 13). Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu play the lead roles in October directed by Shoojit Sircar. The film is an unusual love story between two hotel management trainees. Varun Dhawan is currently busy with the promotions of October.

In a recent interaction with the media, during his film promotions, the actor spoke about his love for South Cinema. "I want to work with directors like Shankar, Rajamouli. I want to debut into the industry with a Tamil movie or Telugu film. Ram Charan is my best friend. He suggested me to learn Telugu," said Varun Dhawan.

Varun is keen that Hindi films reach more South Indian audiences. He said, "We have not managed to capture the South market as much as we want to. Maybe if we actually start dubbing our films in the local language, we could. I love watching South Indian cinema, and am influenced by their choices. Films like Arjun Reddy or Mercury, for instance. Let's not even talk about how Malayalam films are the king of content."
