Baaghi 2 witnesses phenomenal opening weekend, emerges as second highest opening weekend grosser of 2018

Baaghi 2, one of the most awaited films of 2018, released this Friday (March 30). The film has done phenomenal business at the Box Office collecting Rs. . The film has done good business at the Box Office despite getting mixed reviews.

 

Baaghi 2 has become the highest opening day grosser of 2018, beating Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh starrer Padmaavat. Tiger Shroff’s film made a whopping Rs 25. 10 cr on the first day. Trade Analyist shared the box office figures of Baaghi 2 on his microblogging page.  He wrote:

 

 

Baaghi2 with Rs. 25.10 cr collection stands first in the Top 5 opening day grosser next to Padmaavat (19 cr),  PadMan (Rs. 10.26 cr). Raid (Rs. 10.04 cr) and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety (Rs. 6.42 cr)

 

The film holds the record for second highest opening weekend grosser of 2018 next to Padmaavat pushing Raid to the third. The film has grossed Rs. 73.10 crore in its opening weekend (Friday - Rs. 25.10 cr, Saturday - Rs. 20.40 cr and Sunday - 27.60 cr).

This is a big success for Tiger Shroff, who is just five films old. The film's success paves way for Tiger Shroff's much needed break, after two back to back flops he had in the past two years. The second installment of Bollywood’s hit action franchise Baaghi has Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani in the lead roles and is directed by choreographer-turned-director Ahmed Khan.

 

Baaghi2 is a remake of the Telugu film Kshanam. Baaghi 2 is the love story of a rebel Ranveer Pratap Singh aka Ronnie who is on a mission to rescue Neha’s (Disha Patani) daughter. The uber-macho and sweltering physique of the lead actor has for sure drawn people to the theatres. Besides, the film also has Manoj Bajpayee, Randeep Hooda, Deepak Dobriyal and Prateik Babbar in pivotal roles.
