Actor and MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna's upcoming film is a  biopic on his father and former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao (NTR) and the film is all set to begin shooting from March 29, 2018. The movie which is titled NTR has a latest addition in the form of Bollywood actress Vidya Balan and she will be seen making her debut in the Telugu film industry with this film. Vidya has been roped in for playing the role of the late CM's first wife Basavatarakam and Balakrishna's on-screen pair.

It was announced earlier that NTR, which is to be directed by Teja will begin its first schedule at Ramakrishna Cine Studios and is targeting a release by Sankranti next year (January 2019). the movie is a joint production venture of Balakrishna, Sai Korrapati and Vishnu Vardhan Induri and has MM Keeravani for music.
