Karan Johar produced multi-starrer Shiddat was still in its nascent stage when iconic actress Sridevi met her fateful night. Now after weeks of speculation, it has been officially announced that actress Madhuri Dixit will be stepping into Sridevi's shoes for this Abhishek Varman directorial. Shiddat is touted to be a cross-border period drama and starrs Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt among others. Madhuri and Sanjay will be sharing screen space after 21 years since Mahanata in 1997. With Madhuri on-board, Shiddat which is produced by Dharma Productions in association with Fox Star India and Sajid Nadiadwala is expected to go on floors soon.
