Actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar may not sign the quintessential lead roles but the actress sure is carving a slow but steady niche with the films that she chooses. One such lesser spoken about films of hers is the Sarjun directed Echcharikkai which has completed shooting but is yet to hit theatre screens, In a recent interview, director Sarjun, who is best identified as the director of short films like Laksmi and Maa has revealed that Echcharikkai would hit theatre screens in March, 2018, making it Varalaxmi's first release this year.
Touted to be a kidnap thriller, the movie also has Sathyaraj playing the role of a retired cop. As opposed to speculations, Echcharikkai is not inspired from Taken and Varalaxmi does not play Sathyaraj's daughter in the movie. The film is produced by Time Line Cinemas in association with Sundar Annamalai Production and has music by Sundaramurthy K.S, cinematography by Sudarshan Sreenivaasan and edits by Jogesh.
