Akshay Kumar starrer Padman, a film on coimbatore based social activist Arunachalam Muruganantham is all set for a release on February 9, 2018. Latest we know about the movie is that it will be releasing on the same date in Russia too. This is the first time a Bollywood film will have a simultaneous release in both Russia and India.
Directed by R. Balki, the film also starrs Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte with Amit Trivedi for music. The film celebrates Arunachalam aka "Pad=man" as India's superhero for single handedly revolutionising the concept of menstrual hygiene in rural India, by creating a low-cost sanitary napkins machine.
