Sridevi's daughter Jhanvi begins Dhadak
Actress Sridevi who once ruled the roost of Tamil cinema began her debut as a female lead with K. Balachnader's Moondru Mudichu. The movie dealt with a serious subject with love angle as the core and went on to become one of Tamil cinema's cult classics. 30 years down the lane, Sridevi's daughter Jhanvi Kapoor is making her entry into films with the Karan Johar produced Dhadak which interestingly too deals with the serious subject (honour killing) with love angle as the core and is a remake of one of Marathi cult super-hit Sairat.
The 20 year old Jhanvi began shooting for her film today with Ishaan Khattar and we couldn't help but reminisce the times when the 13 year old Sridevi appeared alongside the now-stalwarts of Tamil cinema, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan.
Dhadak is directed by Shashank Khaitan of Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and Badrinath Ki Dulhania fame and is produced by Dharma Productions. The film will hit theatre screens on July 6, 2018.
