Adirindhi Box-Office Opening report
Mersal finally had its Telugu dubbed version, Adirindhi, released last Thursday Nov 9. The film has opened very well and is by far the best opening for Thalapathy Vijay in the Telugu states (Andhra and Telangana). The first 4-days gross is around 8 CR. Adirindhi was also the best performing Telugu film in the Telugu states this past weekend.
Adirindhi is certain to emerge as Vijay's biggest Hit in Telugu and finally gives him a decent foundation there, after all these years. The massive success of the Tamil original and the political controversies surrounding it, also added to Adirindhi's opening craze. We have to see how far this momentum sustains.
And finally, when 'Thalapathy 62' releases in Telugu next year, the craze will be much much higher due to Adirindhi's success and also AR Murugadoss' presence.
