Mohan Raja shares this Velaikkaran Trivia
Mohan Raja directed Velaikkaran recently had a single release titled Iraivaa (composed by Anirudh), that put the film back in the limelight. Adding to this, director Mohan Raja has shared some interesting trivia to Times of India, on the occasion of the country's anniversary of the note-ban movement i.e. Demonetisation. He has been quoted as saying,
"I was all set to start Velaikkaran with Sivakarthikeyan on November 11. And on the day the demonetisation was announced, we'd switched off our phones as I was narrating the final draft to Siva. At around 8 PM, when we switched on our phones, our inboxes were flooded with messages, saying rupee notes were losing their value. I laughed at it...We continued with the narration, but our phones were constantly buzzing. So, we finally switched on the TV to find out what was happening. It was a day of great tension as what we thought was a joke turned out to be a shocker!"
Raja aslo added that his lead Sivakarthikeyan too initially brushed it off as a joke and after digesting the news, Siva is said to have told,
"This is the first day to be happy about not having cash in hand."
Well, isn't that one interesting anecdote? Velaikkaran also starrs Nayanthara, Fahad Fassil and Sneha among others and is expected to hit theatre screens on December 22, 2017.
