Crowning moment for Thalapathy Vijay

For the first time ever, a Thalapathy Vijay film has grossed more than 100 CR in TN. We are talking about Mersal, which has followed Enthiran and Baahubali 2 into the TN centurions club. Mersal is certain to cross the lifetime TN gross of Enthiran (105 - 110 CR range) soon.

Mersal has also become the fastest to cross the 100 CR gross mark (within 12 days' time) in the state.

It's a mighty relief for the TN BO this year thanks to blockbusters Baahubali 2 and Mersal, amid a slew of flops and disappointments. It also proves that summer (Baahubali 2) and Diwali (Mersal) are the best time to release a film in Tamil Nadu.
