Record Alert: Vijay joins Rajini

Mersal has stormed into the all-time Top 5 Chennai city grossers after just 11 days. It has grossed 10.31 CR in the city and has crossed Vivegam to grab the all-time No.5 spot. Baahubali 2, Kabali, Theri and Enthiran are ahead of Mersal now.

Vijay joins Rajini as the only other hero to have two films grossing more than 10 CR in the city. Ajith has one, his recent Vivegam. Baahubali 2 with a city gross of 18.85 CR sits on top pretty, and we have to see if 2.0 or Kaala challenges its position.

Looking at the way Mersal is going, there is a strong possibility that it'll finish at all-time No.2 in the city.
