Mersal storms into week 2, inching towards 200 Crore!
Mersal has stormed into week 2 in movie theatres despite the mount of controversies shrouding it (both before and post release). The Vijay starrer film has estimatedly collected close to Rs. 83 - 85 crore (gross) in Tamil Nadu alone and from the box-office numbers worldwide, it seems like Mersal will enter the 200 crore-club pretty soon.
The estimated overseas collection of the film is at Rs. 55 crore (gross) and its domestic numbers reflect Rs. 15 crore (gross) in the Kerala region and Rs. 15 crore in the rest of India. The box-office collection received so far are the highest ever for a Vijay film and it has already surpassed the collections of films like Kabali and Theri in Tamil Nadu.
