Padmavati Rangoli destroyed, Deepika Padukone appeals to Smriti Irani

Bollywood's upcoming historical film Padmavati has been the subject of mob attacks more than once and despite clarifications and statements from the film-makers, the attacks seem to continue in one way or the other. Latest incident involves a crowd of 100 people crying "Jai Sri Ram" and destroying a Rangoli of the film's first poster featuring Deepika Padukone. Gujarat based Rangoli artist Karan who had taken 48 hours to make the art form, was the first one to report it on twitter.
This was followed by a barrage of angry tweets by Deepika herself who seemed to have gotten support from Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav in the form of a re-tweet.
Through her tweets, Deepika has also appealed to I&B Minister Smriti Irani, who had in the past publicly assured the smooth release of the much opposed film. Earlier, Padmavati sets have been vandalized in Jaipur, Mumbai which resulted in director Sanjay Leela Bhansali getting physically attacked and the sets being completely burnt down in the latter incident.
