Bombay Jayashri gets first ever Oscar nomination for a Tamil song

Pi's Lullaby sung by Bombay Jayashri, is up for Best Original Song at Oscar nominations for 2013. This is the first ever academy award nomination for a Tamil song. We can be sure a Tamil song will be played at the Oscar awards ceremony this year.

Mychael Danna's composition received a nomination for Best Original Score. Life of Pi got a total of 11 nominations, one short of Steven Spielberg's Lincoln which topped the nominations receiving 12 nods.
