FEFSI goes on strike following PC Sreeram's complaint

In yet another dramatic turn of events, the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) has declared a one-day strike in lieu of a case filed by South Indian Films Cinematographers Association (SICA) against G. Siva, the current president of FEFSI. The strike has banned anyone from shooting or doing post-production work for the whole day today. For the uninitiated, ace cinematographer PC Sreeram who was elected to be President of SICA in January 2016, lodged a complaint with the Police Commissioner, Chennai alleging discrepancies in financial accountability produced by his predecessor, G.Siva. It is to be noted that G. Siva had managed the body for 8 years before PC took over.

Talking on the issue, Sreeram was quoted saying that no proper accounts have been submitted by the previous authority till date and that the auditors themselves have been kept in the dark. Ramnath Shetty, current treasurer of SICA was quoted claiming an unaccountability of 40 lakhs (related to a star-night conducted in 2015, which earned the federation 3.75 crores) and non-reporting of IT returns in the past 8 years.
