While everyone waited with bated breath to hear from Karan Johar on the recent turbulence faced by his upcoming movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, the director has finally broken his silence on the controversy. In what seemed like a pained outburst of words in this 2 minute video, Karan was seen expalining the reason for his silence so far and why his film deserves a hinder-free release. He emphasizes that he is in no way an anti-national and announces his decision to not collaborate with Pakistani talent in the future, under the given circumstances. The video release from Karan is in response to the decision of several single screen theatre owners objecting to run Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in their moviehalls. The video is also in response to the heat the movie faced from political groups, pressurising to drop Pakistani actor Fawad Khan from the film and threatning to ban its release. These unfortunate series of events began, when the involvement of Pakistani artistes in Indian cinema and television was barred following the Uri attacks and the counter surgical strikes by the Indian army.
