Kabali day1 Box Office Report 

Superstar Rajinikanth's Kabali stormed into the box office worldwide and thanks to Rajinikanth's craze, the records have been tumbling not only in Tamil Nadu, but also across the nation.    

Highest Gross in TN:

Kabali fetched Rs 20.5 crore on day 1 in Tamil Nadu. This is by far the highest gross on day 1 by any film in Tamil Nadu. However, due to mixed word of mouth, the trade sources expect the collections to fall to Rs 10 crore today.   

Other states:

Few multiplexes in Kerala registered more than 90% occupancy levels, which is the best ever for any Tamil film released there. In Kerala, the movie is expected to have grossed around Rs 3 crore on day 1, while in Andhra/Telangana, the movie is estimated to have collected around Rs 10 crore from the opening day. The official data is still expected from Karnataka and other states.  

Few Overseas locations enter Profit Zone :

Overseas locations like USA and Australia took an earth-shattering opening. In USA, Kabali had grossed $2.5 Million until 10 PM on Friday, which is the biggest ever opening for an Indian movie there. Since the USA rights were sold for Rs 8.5 crore and the premiere shows’ gross stood at $1.9 Million, it was a runaway profit for the distributors. Similarly, Australian distributor has also announced that the movie will become profitable by Sunday. On day 1, the movie had collected £93,835 from UK and €41,280 from France.
