Aravaan is director Vasanthabalan next venture after his critically acclaimed Angadi Theru which also became a decent success at the Boxoffice. This film is based on the novel Kaaval Kootam which depicts the history of Madurai from 13th century till the 19th century.

Popular playback singer Karthik is making his debut as a music director with this film. The audio launch will happen today at Chennai. The notable chief guests who will be present there to launch are Ace Director Mani Ratnam & Oscar award winner A.R Rahman.

The lyrics for the songs are all penned by Na. Muthukumar. This album has 7 tunes which are sung by the best of singers we have in our industry.
