The most stunning factor is that Paidipally – who directed ‘superhero’ movies like Munna & Yevadu, is the one helming this one. That’s quite a choice considering the genre here. Nagarjuna returns post Soggade Chinnin Nayana, Karthi returns post Komban – making his Telugu film debut, while Tamannah returns post Bengal Tiger.

We follow the friendship between 2 men.

Paidipally’s version of one of the greatest true stories of all time is a fantastic piece of work – mostly thanks to a superb performance by the cast & their chemistry, the beautiful balance between humor & drama and of course, the human touch to it all. At 158 minutes, it feels a bit longer than needed – especially with that tacky CGI.

Vamsi Paidipally’s direction is a surprise as he is able to handle the subject with fantastic depth and deliver a knockout motion picture overall. There are moments when he cannot control the urge to show our characters as rebels, but then again, he maintains the momentum with enough vigor. P.S. Vinod’s cinematography is ground-breaking. His effort is one of the key factors which helps in building a wonderful relationship between the atmosphere of the movie and us. Gopi Sunder’s score is decent – nothing too memorable.

Nagarjuna and Karthi tag-team their way to awesomeness as they pitch in their best – making this movie far more engaging than it could have been. They carry their respective roles with confidence – ultimately making you smile endlessly. Tamannah is good. The supporting cast is superb! The Special Appearances are great.

Oopiri is a comedy-drama which is the remake of one of cinema’s finest products. While it could have done away with one pointless subplot, Paidipally reinvents himself – delivering a lovely movie, while Nagarjuna & Karthi’s stupendous bromance takes the flick to a whole other level.
