Kudos to the director Raja Krishna Menon to bring this unsung heroic story to the masses of India and giving Akshay Kumar a perfect reason to keep away from the stupid movies he does and give more such fine performances.

The film is based on a true story of the biggest evacuation of Indians based in Kuwait during the Iraq-Kuwait war in 1990!  It tells about a story about a businessman, RanjitKatyal and his mission to evacuate 1,70,000 Indians back to their country in 1990.

This action thriller had a high chance of going melodramatic and being over the top filmy but the director and actors kept it very real and engaging for most of the film. The detailing, the setting and the cinematography is praise-worthy. Even the dialogues were very well written and delivered by the actors. The songs are enjoyable but they disturb the pace of the film and don’t suit the storyline as well. Apart from that, good execution overall.

Talking about the performances, this has been Akshay Kumar’s best performance in recent times. He was finally able to get into the depth of the character amazingly well. The journey of a mean businessman to a hero of the underdogs, the fear of losing his family, the courage to take on the challenges for his fellow countrymen were brilliantly portrayed by Akki.Nimrat Kaur owned every single scene in which he figured and proved yet again about the immense talent she has. PurabKohli and Khumud Mishra did a fine job too.

In all, the film will definitely make for a compelling watch. So got get inspired and learn about the heroic story this Republic Day.
