Biggest Disappointments of Bollywood Movies 2015

The year 2015 was a year of disappointments with the most awaited films crashing at the Box Office and also in the eyes of public. Huge expectations and regretful experiences were the story of the year. Here are the ten biggest shockers of the year:

1. Bombay Velvet

First and foremost is the Anurag Kashyap directorial Bombay Velvet starring a wonderful cast of Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma with a great supporting cast but the film crashed at the box office majorly due to its very poor script and story!

2. Shaandaar

After Chillar Party and Queen, there were big expectations from Vikas Bahl from Shaandaar which also starred actors like Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. But again, Vikas’s experiment with a big budget movie didn’t go well with the audience.

3. Dilwale

With reuniting the hit Jodi of Shah Rukh and Kajol, this Rohit Shetty directorial had raised the hopes from the film but it was another disaster in terms of story and content. Many fans complained that SRK has started taking his fans for granted and is continuously doing bad movies.

4. Shamitabh

This was another case of the combination of a brilliant director and great actors gone wrong due to lack of a good engaging story. Even the likes of Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush were not able to save this sinking ship.

5. Singh Is Bliing

Singh Is King was a very enjoyable movie to watch but it’s sequel was stupid, lame and unentertaining. There has been an overdose of Akshay Kumar in these type of films and he should be doing more films like Baby.

6. Welcome Back

Welcome is a comedy cult and is still loved by masses. But its sequel left everyone unimpressed mainly due to the lack of a good plotline and missing Akshay Kumar. John didn’t fit the bill at all.

7. Hamari Adhuri Kahani

With brilliant actors like Vidya Balan, Rajkummar Rao and Emraan Hashmi and written by Mahesh Bhatt himself, this film was expected to do really well but again it was nothing but an overdose of senti-ness and an example of melodramatic Bollywood cinema.

8. Jazbaa

Sanjay Gupta, the Kaante director went too far in experimenting with the styling of the film which starred veteran actors like Irrfan and Shabana Azmi but also marked the comeback of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The heavy one-liners didn’t go well the characters and looked very filmy.

9. Phantom

This Kabir Khan directorial film lacked a good script, good performances and good overall take on its subject. Another poor show for Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif!

10. Katti Batti

One had big expectations from the D-Day director and Kangana Ranaut coming from a fab performance in TWMR but both disappointed as the film never took off among the viewers and failed to create an impression.
