Loafer Movie Review
Chandramouli
Jagannadh hasn’t really been up to much since a while now. His movies have gone from good to wow to bad in a matter of months. And while Temper was decent, the rest since probably Ek Niranjan have only been a sour fruit. Tej returns post Kanche while Pathani makes her Telugu debut.
We follow the life a vagabond.
Jagannadh seems to be stuck in the very same loop since the beginning. There is so much nonsense happening with the loud background score, frustrating action sequences, terrible lead performances and just downright horrible story, that one cannot help but start massaging your head when the 140 minute runtime is about to run out.
With lack of any attention-to-detail, characters popping up randomly, characters disappearing randomly and what not, this ranks among the few movies in the world which is guaranteed to provide a painful migraine. Sunil Kashyap’s songs are decent while the background score is thundering and loud. P.G. Vinda’s cinematography is engaging. Vijay’s action sequences are the same old!
Varun Tej gets by in his performance as any sequence never shows him undergoing a change in expression due to the quick-editing. Disha Patani looks a lot like Shraddha Kapoor but is fine. Revathy is unquestionable. Posani Murali Krishna bites more than he can chew and begins to get on your nerves. The supporting cast is the usual.
Loafer is a Rs.15 crore masala flick which only reiterates two things – Revathy is an outstanding performer irrespective of the script and also, Jagannadh has reached his saturation point. This is the best he can do. This is it. And if this is it…the producers must be the crazy to continue to fund him!
