MovieCrow Box Office Report - December 12 to 14

Every road in the Chennai city led to a theatre that screened Lingaa last weekend. With shows starting as early as 1 am, the movie took a humongous opening. Check out the box office ranking of Tamil movies in Chennai during last weekend.

1. Lingaa

In spite of the mixed reviews for the film, there was no stopping Lingaa from taking the biggest opening this year. Rajinikanth's charisma is the USP of the film, while critics have blamed KS Ravikumar for the ordinary screenplay.

2. Naaigal Jaakirathai

Sibiraj's Naaigal Jaakirathai has been declared as a sleeper hit by trade sources. Thanks to the refreshing screenplay and fairly engaging treatment, the movie has been finding its takers.

3. Aaah and 4. Ra

Due to the onslaught of Lingaa, both Aaah and Ra were running across only negligible number of screens in the city.

Other Movies

Kaaviya Thalaivan took a huge dip in screen count, in spite of overwhelming reviews, while Vijay's Kaththi had its share of repeat audience at a screen.

Upcoming week's releases

Mysskin's horror film Pisasu will be hitting the screens next weekend, while the mad rush for the Chirstmas weekend has begun already.
