Coolie is actor Rajinikanth's 171st film that is written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The movie's title teaser released a few days ago, and it came with an Anirudh Ravichander version of the Ilaiyaraaja composed Vaa Vaa Pakkam Vaa song from Thanga Magan (1983). Now Anirudh has updated that this 'Coolie Disco' track is gearing up for release as a single.

A Sun Pictures production, Coolie titled after a 1983 Hindi movie and a 1995 Tamil movie is expected to begin shooting this year. The actioner's technical crew includes Anbariv for action, Girish Gangadharan for cinematography, Philomin Raj for edits, Sathees Kumar for production design, and Lokesh Kanagaraj, Chandru Anbazhagan for dialogues.
