Rajinikanth's 2.0 confirms postponement : Karu, Padman come into the picture

Rajinikanth's 2.0 confirms postponement: Karu, Padman come into the picture

Rajinikanth's 2.0 getting postponed from its announced release date of January 26, 2018 has been an open-secret for quite some time now and, producers of the film, Lyca Productions have officially confirmed that the film will now release in April, 2018  (with some trade reports suggesting April 27, 2018 as the release date). It is worth mentioning here that several media reports had already predicted that this Shankar directorial might eye the month of April (Tamil New Year) for hitting theatre screens.

There have also been speculations that one of Lyca Productions' other ventures, the A.L. Vijay directed Karu, will now be releasing on the republic day holiday, which was previously allotted for 2.0. However an official confirmation on the same is still awaited.

If one may recall, 2.0's antagonist Akshay Kumar had stated that it will be either 2.0 or Padman (his Hindi release) on January 26, 2018. With 2.0's official postponement, we can be rest assured that it is indeed Padman, a film based on Tamil Nadu's social activist Arunchalam Muruganandham that will be entertaining the audience.
