In 2014, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Make in India initiative, little did anyone know that actor Rajinikanth would one day be a part of it. The campaign that encourages national and multi-national, companies to manufacture their products in India has been incorporated into the actor's upcoming film 2.0 and despite the heavy budget (350 crores+) of the project, this Shankar directorial has been shot only in India; primarily at Chennai and Delhi. Also the technology used in VFX and Visual Effects is mostly Indian made and the technicians involved in the making of the film are all Indians.

However, the movie which is also highly publicized for the use of animatronics in it had to resort to an American company (Legacy Effects) for building its vision. Seen here is an image of the manufacturing division where those robots were constructed.

Produced by Lyca Productions2.0 is a sequel to the blockbuster Enthiran/Robo and also features Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson. The film is slated for an October release this year.
