Must-watch.

Prasanna and Sneha have simply lived their lives, instead of acting, and this does much to push forward a film that might be called a bit slow in pace. Logic and reasoning, however, play a great part in the screenplay, written by Arun Vaidhyanathan. For the guts in coming up with a unique, important theme that needs to be addressed sensitively, this movie works. (more)

Film-making at its entertaining, yet thrilling best.

The most gripping thing about ‘Achchamundu! Achchamundu!’ is that it deals with a fear lurking in the country: not with ghosts or the supernatural kind, but a real, looming issue. The film has been written and directed by Arun Vaidyanathan. It is to Arun's credit that the film, with such a plausible storyline, has been executed completely by the three pivotal characters, Sneha, Prasanna and John Shea. The background score is one of the finest you would have heard in recent times. (more)

Achamundu Achamundu - The fear is there!

Amidst films that in all sincerity work to keep the carnal instincts aroused, director Arun Vaidhyanathan has taken the mantle to address a serious global issue in his debut flick Achamundu Achamundu and passes the muster with flying colors. Arun Vaidhyanathan has done a tightrope walking commendably with absolutely no shades of vulgarity or impropriety. Kudos for tackling such a sensitive subject with a lot of sensibility and acumen! Kudos to the director.

Good things come in small packages. With fine acting and crisp dialogues, debutant director Arun Vaidyanathan's Achchamundu Achchamundu, is alternative cinema with finesse. It’s a gutsy film because it dares to explore unchartered territories in Tamil cinema. The director should be appreciated and lauded for his treatment of a sensitive subject, without ever turning his camera into a voyeur. The film and its wafer thin story line works mainly because of the performances. (more)

Commendable.

One of AA’s appreciable aspects is its length — the Tamil suspense thriller draws to a close in just about two hours! Finesse marks the film and the casting is commendable. Natural treatment and spontaneous performances are AA’s forte. Karthik Raja’s intelligent re-recording is another asset of AA. AA does its director proud! All the same you do feel the film could have moved faster.(more)
