Notable individual performances.

Selvaraghavan has done a good job in Pudhupettai also. The story of the movie is predictable, yet the individual performances are notable and praiseworthy. Talented artists Dhanush and Sneha, along with the talented crew, including Yuvan Shankar Raja and cameraman Aravind Krishna have all delivered their best efforts here. Selvaraghavan's sturdy confidence in them has not been misplaced. (more)

A haunting dirge of savagery.

Yuvan Shankar Raja scales great heights with his mesmerizing background score in "Pudhupettai". Cinematographer Arvind Krishna presents a visual treat with his tones, choice of colors. After all the hype and hoopla, Selvaraghavan dishes out a protracted bloodbath. (more)

Love layered with violence.

But individual performances, lead by the highly talented Dhanush and Sneha, along with the technical whiz of Yuvan Shankar Raja and cameraman Aravind Krishna, make Puthupettai very much watchable.(more)

Dhanush, practically in every frame of the movie, has done an excellent job in the author-backed role. Another top class performance is from Sneha who adds serenity to the proceedings with a dignified presence. The background score by Yuvan is, to use a milder word, awesome.(more)
