Surya's charm would floor viewers.
Written and directed by Sasi Shankar, who also helmed the original Malayalam version, the film is neat in presentation, without any vulgarity in expression or dialogue, though not taut. Particularly after intermission it just seems to amble on. Vivek has you in splits. It is healthy humor that comes from the Surya-Vivek duo. Surya deserves accolade for the performance. (more)

Surya strikes a hat-trick.
Kudos to AVM for rendering a family entertainer in Peralagan with right mix of action, romance and humor all through. Bhujji Babu, the make-up man, deserves all appreciation. Yuvan Shankar Raja's tunes are catchy. Vivek and Surya evoke laughter whenever they appear on the screen. Surya deserves appreciation for his astounding performance. A laugh-riot family entertainer is sure to appease all. (more)
