Not for the cheeky romantics.

Kudos to the director for highlighting the highs and lows of college life. Art direction and Cinematography come in for special mention solely because they blend seamlessly with the narration and are inconspicuous. Joshua Sridhar's music is amazing and helps convey the emotions. If it works, it is purely because of the director and the emotions he has been able to extract from the actors.(more)

Kalloori is realistic.

The movie surprises you. Balaji Sakthivel's screenplay and excellent dialogues that capture your attention at once and make you stick to your seat. Not once, in such a done-to-death premise, does the movie lose your attention. Chezhian's cinematography is perfection itself, capturing the dustiness of the surrounds and the college accurately. Joshua Sridhar's music has been used well.(more)

Pluses aplenty, minuses a few!

Kudos to the unbelievably perfect casting! Most of them are first-time actors, but every character looks so true-to-life that you forget they are just performing their parts. Very ingeniously Balaji Shaktivel gives each an unforgettable individuality, right from Tamanna who fills the bill beautifully. Cinematographer Sezhiyan's outdoor shots are stunning. In tune with the mood of the sequences is Joshua Sridhar’s re-recording. (more)

The dialogues by Balaji Shakthivel are genuine and spontaneous. Chezhian's camera intensely follows the life of the youngsters, recording the subtle and touching moments in their lives. (more)
