Cheers! Suriya, Vadivelu and Harris Jayaraj
Aadhavan relies greatly on the performances of Suriya and Vadivelu. It boasts of a huge star cast who are not given much scope to perform due to the storyline. Since the story is weak, K.S. Ravikumar has scripted the screenplay depending entirely on the comedy and music. Aadhavan is a musical treat from Harris Jayaraj. Cinematography in the songs is excellent. Overall, K.S. Ravikumar's Aadhavan is watchable as a commercial entertainer for time pass.(more)

Aadhavan is clean fun.
The man of the movie is certainly K S Ravikumar, though. He's added a slick gloss to his usual masala quotient. Aadhavan is uncomplicated, clean, fun, and doesn't expect you to take it seriously. The best thing about Aadhavan is that impossible plot points, and general silliness aside; the director doesn't really let the narrative pause. This is completely Suriya’s film. Aside from Suriya, though, the man of the movie is undoubtedly Vadivelu.(more)

Carefree commercial - Conditions apply.
This is a trademark KS Ravikumar product, no holds barred entertainment with elements for just about everyone in the family. But, it does also come with its share of pitfalls and flaws. In the bid for uninhibited entertainment, logic and reason have taken a beating at places. Harris Jeyaraj’s music which is already a hit could have been placed and used better. Suriya walks through a role that does not challenge him much. Vadivelu brings the house down with his comic act. (more)

Sprightly jump and then a hobble!
Aadhavan's mind-boggling action with director K.S. Ravikumar and Suriya is an engaging edge-of-the-seat entertainer. And like all Ravikumar’s products, it is a clean film without double entendres. Exotic locations colorfully captured by Ra.Ganesh's camera are a highlight of ‘Aadhavan.’ (more)

Have Fun.
It is an out and out Suriya show. Vadivel is a scream and is present throughout the film. Only problem with Ramesh Kanna's story is that it does not have a single original bone in its body, and is inspired from various movies. The music of Harris Jayaraj is hummable. Ranging through a wide field of comedy laced with action, Aadhavan is good fun while it lasts. It’s a roller-coaster ride of pure unadulterated masala.(more)

Agile, active and attractive.
'Aadhavan' is nothing but a rehash of several yesteryear flicks but the USP is the racy script by Ravikumar, who mesmerizes the audience with quick narration. All credits to Suriya, he has proved that he can excel in mass masala ventures too. Vadivelu occupies maximum screen space to bring the roof down with laughter. Harris Jeyaraj’s musical score is impressive while his background score is average. The story by Ramesh Khanna could have been more interesting had the director added more suspense and twists in the screenplay.(more)
