Deep Impact.

Although paranormal subjects are not something new, the narrative style, technical wizardry and the brilliant camera work give Eeram, the real eerie experience. Eeram once again reiterates that content is the hero and scores well. It is hard to believe that this is the first outing of Arivazhagan who has neatly crafted this thrill caper. Even though Eeram moves a tad slow, it does not put brakes in the flow of content anywhere.(more)

Not a damp squib.

Arivazhagan must have polished his screenplay over and over again to come up with such a lucid narrative that strongly impacts the viewer. The suspense that is maintained till the end sustains viewers’ interest. Filming Eeram must have been quite a challenge for Manoj Paramahamsa but the lens man does a neat job. Visual effects (Indian Artists) help enhance the impact without making things unnecessarily eerie. (more)

Cool and Chilling.

What works for the film is its lead actors, packaging and technical wizardry. Its unfamiliar twists and confusing turns are likely to baffle you along the way. The new star cast is what makes the film watchable. The music of Thaman is passable and his background score is the backbone of the movie. However it is Manoj Paramahamsa’s camera which is the real hero of the film. Eeram is cool and chilling, but would have been better if it was trimmed by at least 15 minutes. (more)

Eeram is brilliant.

Debutant director Arivazhagan, who has written and directed the film, has turned out a film that strives to score points on logic, novelty and raciness. The best part is that he actually makes you cling to the edge of the seat most of the time. Arivazhagan definitely deserves a pat on the back for such relentless logic. Writer Sujatha's influence is pretty obvious in many scenes. Manoj Paramahamsa's camerawork is refreshing: somber and serious. (more)

Exciting and Different.

For a debut director, Eeram is a commendable effort. Kudos to Shankar for bringing a different story on screen. Arivazhagan does full justice to Shankar's faith in him as an effective story teller. Manoj Paramahamsa (cinematographer) is the real hero of the film. The music of Eeram is soothing, just like the visuals. (more)

Get,set,wet.

Arivazhagan, has come out with a movie that has gripping screenplay coupled with good use of technology. The debutant director has been assisted by a young brigade of technicians and lesser known star cast. The young music composer Thaman has come up with soul-stirring music. Visual effects are the USP in the film and it manages to create an element of suspense among the audience. The scene-stealer however is cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa, who does his lens do all the talking. Cheers to ‘Eeram’ team.(more)
